If your child is competing in the Junior Aquathlon, you will gain one free entry to Leeds Castle. Any other spectators are eligible to purchase a spectator ticket. These can be purchased on the day or in advance.
There is a special entry charge for spectators and supporters. Your ticket for the day includes the extensive grounds, maze and falconry demonstration and play areas. Your spectator ticket will be valid for entry before 10am. If you arrive after this time then you will be required to pay the full entrance price. Annual admission tickets to Leeds Castle will also be valid to spectate.
Spectator tickets will be available closer to the event.
Take part in the Leeds Castle Triathlon as a team! Each team member may select their discipline and competitors will take it in turn to swim, cycle and run the triathlon course.
There will be well-deserved massages provided within the athlete village after each race.
Triathlon England membership packages are designed to help look after you. Triathlon England has a wide range of benefits for everyone including insurance to give you protection when training and racing and access to products that will help you in race season. Your license is endorsed for International triathlons meaning you can race abroad. Membership runs for a full year from the date you join - that means you are covered for the entire race season. Are you a member of a triathlon club? If so, you get an extra discount when you join.
If you are not a member of Triathlon England then race licenses are available on race day for £5 at registration. Please be aware that you will require a license to race.
The competitors will start with a swim in the moat. After the swim, the competitors enter the ‘transition’ area where bikes have been left for collection for the cycling section. Competitors will then make their way off site and out of Leeds Castle on to the A20. They will then return to transition and start the run which takes them around the Upper Parkland, before returning to the main event area for the finish.
The bike circuit takes place on the roads outside the Grounds and the finish is in the main event area, where you will also find food, stalls and further amenities.

Getting to Leeds Castle
7 miles east of Maidstone, Junction 8 of the M20 motorway just 1 hour from London, 30 minutes from the Channel Tunnel and Channel Ports. Dartford River Crossing is 30 minutes (find out about the Dart Charge scheme). Clearly sign posted from all routes - following the brown and white tourist signs.

The swim will be in the beautiful moat surrounding this iconic Castle, the bike course will take you out into the surrounding area and then the finish will be the run course around the stunning Leeds Castle estate.

Yes, in accordance with the BTF rules, children must wear a wet suit when competing in the swim.
Yes the race is registered with the BTF and will comply with the normal BTF rules. Please the British Triathlon Competition Rules for further information. You will need a BTF licence to take part in this event, if you do not already have one please visit www.triathlonengland.org alternatively you will be able to purchase a day licence upon registration at the event.
If you have received an email entitled 'Booking Confirmation' then you are entered into the race you booked for. If you think you have booked but haven't received a confirmation email please get in contact with us and we can look into it for you.
You will receive your race pack containing your race numbers and chip for timing at registration on the day. Course details are available on the website and a final preparation and race day instructions will be sent out via email 10 days before the race.
There will be some Triathlon Training days and Run Recces leading up to the event.
The races take place early in the morning, before Leeds Castle opens to the public. Exact timings will be confirmed on the website closer to the event.
The water quality will be tested 2 weeks before the event. The temperature will be taken on the morning of each race and will be displayed in the registration tent.
Yes, these will be given out on the finish line.
Yes, every entrant will receive a goody-bag.
There will be awards for winners in each category.
All triathletes are welcome to spend the rest of the day in the grounds and exploring the Castle free of charge.
There will be spectator tickets available to purchase through the Leeds Castle website. The ticket allows you to spend the day here at Leeds Castle. These tickets are available to purchase ahead of the event on or website, and from 6am – 10am on the events days. After 10am the ticket prices reverts to our normal admission prices. If you have an annual ticket already, this will allow you to watch the Triathlon.
Yes the race is open to men and women.
The triathletes will be split into waves which will be decided once entry’s close 2 weeks before the race weekend.
Yes, the triathletes will receive a chip code on entry which will record their time on completion of the triathlon.
No all roads will be open for this event.
No, unfortunately for safety reasons we cannot allow the use of music devices along the course.
Yes, transition will be open to you as soon as you have registered.
Children aged 8 to 14yrs can enter our Junior Aquathon. The Sprint is open to adults and children 15yrs and over. The Standard Triathlons is open to adults and children 17yrs and over.
We will provide you with a coloured swim hat (you are welcome to wear your own underneath).
A lot of time can be won or lost during the transition so practice is important.

There will be food and drink outlets located at the main event site.
Yes, the Triathlon site and transition will be secure. Transition will only be accessible by competitors on the day of the race.
A wet suit is compulsory if the water temperature is 14 degrees or below. Between 15 degrees and 22 degrees a wet suit is optional. If the temperature is above 22 degrees then a wet suit cannot be worn. We would recommend using a wet suit as this will assist in buoyancy and warmth.

Yes, the Leeds Castle Moat has a Water Analysis Certificate.
The order of the race is swim, cycle, run.
The Triathlon and Junior Aquathlon run courses are both cross country, around the estate grounds which includes a mixture of grass and paths on varying gradients.
Race times will be available from the timing tent on the day and will also be posted on the Leeds Castle website.
